Fox in Socks

We read the book Fox in Socks and the Foot Book on the day we wore our Silly Socks.

As a class we made a graph where we found out who had on silly socks and who did not.

Later that day we all drew a picture of ourselves. Then we took turns with a partner laying on the ground and using our measuring feet to see how many feet tall we are.

Then the students wrote it down on their foot and we attached it to the picture.

Cat in the Hat Day!

Thursday was wear red, white and black for Cat in the Hat. The students had made cat in the hat hats the day before so all students had something fun to wear.

We read the book The Cat in the Hat and we made a class book about what we would do if the cat in the hat came into our school.

Later that day we read the book The Cat in the Hat Comes Back! Then we wrote about what we would do if the Cat in the Hat came into our classroom.

Wacky Wednesday

The Wednesday of Dr. Seuss Week was for the book Wacky Wednesday. All the students were asked to dress wacky. The students did a great job! We had students dress wacky by mixing and matching their clothes, turning shirts inside-out, wearing shirts backwards, or by wearing 2 different shoes.

Students drew pictures of exactly what they were wearing that day. Then we made a class graph of who dressed wacky and who did not.
Later that day the students had the chance to draw their own wacky pictures.

Even the teachers enjoy Wacky Wednesday!

Dr. Seuss- Mulberry Street

We read the book And To Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street by Dr. Seuss. It was a fun book about a child who sees one thing on Mulberry Street but creates this BIG story of what else he could have seen on Mulberry Street.

I had the students create their own page "And to think I saw it on Camp Wisdom Road". Our school is located on Camp Wisdom Road. The students had a fun time using their imagination and creating some really cute and funny things they would want to see on Camp Wisdom Road.

Dr. Seuss

During the week we read the book 1 Fish 2 Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. The students then had a fun time water coloring their own fish bowl.

After it dried we added fish to the bowl and created an addition problem.

Dr. Seuss Week

Tuesday we had a fun day! It was Green Day! We all wore green and we made green eggs and ham.

Each student had their own egg. They each got to crack open the egg into their own bowl.

Then we added green food coloring. Once the food coloring was added the students used their fork to scramble the egg.

Once all eggs were scrambled we put them in the skillet and watched them cook. We served our green eggs with ham.

After we finished eating we made a graph to see which students liked the green eggs and ham and which students did not.

Dr. Seuss Week

On Monday of Dr. Seuss week we had Hat Day. Students were welcomed to wear a hat. We read the book The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins.

As we were reading the book we made a tree map of all the nouns we heard. The students were great listeners and found a lot of nouns!

For math that day we made a class graph. We graphed if they were wearing a hat that day. The students each drew a picture of their head and if they had a hat on they would draw their hat.
